Bistro Boon has a back story that is a saga of tireless drive and proactive spirit. The year was 1969. Mangalore was a quaint little coastal town in Karnataka. M Sanjeev Bhat is an entrepreneur with creative ideas who set up his own soft drinks manufacturing unit in this town.
The enterprise was supported by the locals and Mr Bhat diversified his product range.
In 1987 the brand “Boon” was launched right from the launch, fizzy lemon drink captured the market of coastal Karnataka.
In the year 1992, he was joined by his son Prashanth Bhat, who further introduced many other flavors like apple, ginger, jeera, etc. Sanjeev Bhat passed away in 1996. By then Prashanth Bhat had been groomed to take on the reins of the enterprise, to steer it towards new heights.
He built up the service quotient and innovated with various types of cuisines that he had put together for backend supply to industrial and educational institutions in Mangaluru. Having tasted success as an entrepreneur, Prashanth Bhat diversified into the manufacturing of snacks and a variety of food.
